One midterm race that has garnered national interest is the Texas Senate election. Incumbent Republican Ted Cruz is facing Democratic challenger Beto O’Rourke.
No Democrat has held a statewide office in Texas since 1994. While Cruz initially held a substantial lead according to polls, O'Rourke has gradually closed the gap, and the race is now considered to be surprisingly competitive.
Food For Thought
Will Texas voters elect Democrat Beto O’Rourke over incumbent Senator Ted Cruz? Why, or why not?
