The Quick Facts

  • On Wednesday, President Trump signed the "Right to Try" Act.
  • The U.S. House of Representatives passed the act on Tuesday, with a 250 - 169 vote. The Senate passed the bill back in August.
  • This act allows terminally ill patients to use experimental drugs that have not been fully approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)
  • To qualify under this act, experimental drugs still must pass the FDA's first approval phase. This means they have to prove that they don't harm humans.

Food For Thought

Should you support the passage of "Right to Try" legislation? Why or why not?
