The Quick Facts
- On Wednesday, the Democratic National Committee announced their decision to exclude Fox News Channel from televising any of its candidate debates during the 2019-2020 cycle.
- The committee based its decision on recent published revelations detailing the Fox News network’s close ties to the Trump administration.
- In particular, DNC chairman Tom Perez pointed to a story in the New Yorker magazine this week called “The Making of the Fox News White House,” which suggested that the news network had become a propaganda vehicle for Trump.
- So far, the DNC has scheduled 12 primary debates, beginning in June. It has only awarded rights to the first two— to NBC and CNN.
