Colin Kaepernick, the NFL quarterback most associated with the kneeling protest movement in the league, recently signed an advertising deal with Nike.
Nike announced yesterday that Kaepernick will be the new face of its “Just Do It” campaign.
The first advertisement image pictures Kaepernick in black and white with text reading: “Believe in something. Even if it means sacrificing everything."
Kaepernick has also been featured in the news recently due to a development in his legal complaint filed last November.
Kaepernick alleges in his grievance that NFL owners colluded to keep him out of the league, and two weeks ago a system arbitrator denied the NFL’s request to dismiss the case, meaning there could be enough evidence to bring the case to a trial.
Food For Thought
Was the choice of Colin Kaepernick as the face of Nike's "Just Do It" campaign a good decision or a poor one?
