Andrew Yang is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, author and lawyer. He is the son of immigrants from Taiwan, and grew up in New York.
In 2011, he founded Venture for America (VFA), a nonprofit that aims to create jobs in cities that were hit hard by the 07-08 financial crisis. Prior to VFA, he served as an executive at a test prep company called Manhattan Prep.
Yang's signature policy is the "Freedom Dividend", a universal basic income of $1,000 a month. He has been vocal about the rise of automation and its impact on our economy.
