The Quick Facts

On Tuesday, ABC cancelled it's popular show, "Roseanne". Here are some facts you should know before engaging with our spectrum of opinions:

1) The show was cancelled after the star of the show, Roseanne Barr, published a racist tweet.

2) Roseanne's tweet stated, "muslim brotherhood & planet of the apes had a baby = vj."

3) "VJ" is a reference to former Obama advisor, Valerie Jarrett. Jarrett issued a statement in which she said, "This should be a teaching moment. #EverydayRacism."

4) "Roseanne" was a reboot of a show that ran between 1988 and 1997. It aimed to realistically portray a working-class, American family, and the lead character, played by Roseanne, was a Trump supporter.

5) The rebooted show achieved great early ratings. Over 25M viewers watched its premiere on March 27th.
