Trevor Lawrence played a near-flawless game. He didn’t make too many mistakes and put the ball right on the money for the most part.

Sadly, the depth on the offensive line was finally exposed as well when it faced (by far) the best defensive front of the season.

Perhaps this game will cleanse the pipes, adjust the attitudes in a way that is needed. Alabama got beaten badly on Monday, but it didn’t just become a bad team.

Just missed it.

Perspectives from teams who barely missed the cut.

Even with a 4 team playoff there are always a handful of teams who were on the bubble and will have to wait another year for a shot at the national championship.

We did what we could. We went out and played a great Alabama football team in what was a great football game.

No matter what positives occur before or after an embarrassing loss, they become negligible when viewed in the harsh light of having lost to an unranked opponent.
-The Columbus Dispatch
[A 16-team playoff] would give a team like U-M a chance for redemption after that horribly disappointing game at Ohio State. Suddenly, the Wolverines would be on a Revenge Tour, Part II.
-Detroit Free Press
It’s been 25 games, one mythical national championship and, as of today, 719 days without an L. None of which has been good enough to crack the four-team College Football Playoff.
